i go mountain biking across the cannock chase regularly on monkey route, its a fantastic trail not too perilous but i do pick up honest speed on my small trek ticket and even the slightest fall could result in honest injury. after seeing horrific injuries in front of my eyes (one guy fell of on a rock garden and his visor forced the full force of the stone onto his chin) and many unfortunate but amusing youtube videos i am wondering whether i should buy a full face helmet instead of the standard ones which cover the most hardened part of the skull whilst leaving fragile teeth and jaw at the mercy of the floor. it would also up my confidence as i am less inclined to brake and more comfortable with taking riskier but speedier routes what do you reckon?
